If a patient is employed, his/her GP can certify the sick-leave in case of any illness.

The patient has to contact her/him as soon as possible via phone, email or visiting in the surgery.

A sick- leave can be issued by the GP only maximum 5 days after the start of the illness.

If a  patient informs the GP  later than that,  the sick-leave can be issued only after a long complicated process for him/her.

The sick-leave note can be issued at the end of the  illness.

In case of a long illness the notes are issued in every 2 weeks.

To issue a sick leave note a GP needs the patient’s address and his/her job or position at work.

If the patient is asked to have an appointment during the sick leave, he/she has to visit the surgery or the sick- leave can be cancelled.

A patient can be on sick- leave in case of a valid TAJ registration number.
